Aboriginal Audiences

The Learning Clicks program, with various FNMI Advisors and Ambassadors, have developed four workshops that are free for communities and schools.  These workshops;

  • help to support students in continuing their learning pathways,
  • are presented by one of our Aboriginal Ambassadors, and
  • present each element of the career and education planning cycle.

The workshops can be provided on their own or in combination with one another.

1. Discover Your Future: Community, Family and Self

  • Explore historical occupations of Aboriginal communities
  • Learn more about what types of occupations are going to be needed in the 21st century economy
  • Identify occupations of interest that will benefit your community
  • Hear and share success stories from Ambassadors and students

2. Realize Your Potential: The Road to Higher Education

  • Learn about the benefits of post-secondary education for community, family and self (hear first hand accounts of these benefits)
  • Identify what to consider when choosing a post-secondary education pathway
  • Explore both the challenges and available supports in attending post-secondary schooling
  • Discover what you will need to successfully complete post-secondary education
  • Understand how you can learn and stay connected to your community

3. Planning Your Learning Journey

        PART I: Post-Secondary Education Planning

  • Discover what programs and schools are out there
  • Explore what schools and programs would be a best fit for you
  • Consider the choice of leaving home or staying in your community to do post-secondary education
  • Learn about education laddering and how this can benefit you

         PART II: Paying for Post-Secondary Education

  • Learn about costs for schooling and personal living
  • Identify the challenges in funding post secondary education
  • Discover the opportunities in accessing funding to help cover these costs

Discover who your Ambassador/Facilitator would be for your region.
