Louise McKinney Post-Secondary Scholarships
Sponsored by: Established by Alberta Scholarship Programs in honour of Louise McKinney. Purpose: To recognize exceptional academic achievement and encourage outstanding students to continue their studies at the post-secondary level. Value: $2,500 Eligibility: Applicants must be residents of Alberta and plan to enroll at a university, college or technical institute, in the second or subsequent year of full-time study. Alberta students studying outside the province because their program of study is not offered in Alberta will be considered for a scholarship if their class standing is in the top two percent of their program. Selection: Students studying in-province are nominated by the Student Awards Office at participating Alberta post-secondary institutions and click here for a list of eligible post-secondary institutions in Alberta. It is recommended that students contact the Awards Office to determine their eligibility, i.e. the GPA and the number of credits required - normally, courses taken for credit or taken at an institution other than the nominating institution are not considered.
