Conditions for Release of Payment
The following conditions will affect the release of your student funding:
- If you are 22 years or older, and this is the first time you are applying for post-secondary student funding, you must pass a credit check. Your funding is conditional on having a satisfactory credit history.
- Your educational institution must confirm that you are registered as a full-time student in the program you selected and for the period of study for which you applied for funding.
- Your personal and program information on your funding application must match the information you used to register at your school
- You must advise both Students Finance and your school if there is any change to your personal and program information. Information that does not match will:
- delay the confirmation of your registration, and
- delay the release of your student funding
- If you have applied online for student funding, you may be mailed an Electronic Confirmation of Financial Information (EC) letter.
- If you receive an EC letter:
- sign and return the EC letter immediately. Your funding will be withheld until the EC letter is received with your signature.
- have your parents sign the EC letter if you are a dependent student
- have your spouse/partner sign the EC letter if you are married/common law
- If you do not receive an EC letter, the above instructions do not apply to you.
