Often, these
organizational development challenges are left unanswered or half-addressed
in the daily hustle and bustle of business operation. However, the
result of that is that you, as a sole proprietor could find yourself
being run ragged trying to accomplish everything yourself. Conversely,
if you go out and hire people without a structure for them to operate
within, (workflow systems, separation of responsibilities, management,
etc.) The result is often improper cost controls, poor revenue generation,
and sometimes business failure.
All organization
decisions need to be determined from a strategic planning point
of view. To reach these decisions, a business operator must examine
all aspects of the business and decide:
- Whether
to do much of it personally.
- Whether
to contract out some of it.
- Whether
to institute partial systems.
- Whether to
institute complete systems.
