Online Screening

Some employers use online screening to eliminate candidates whose qualifications do not meet minimum criteria, such as a level of education or a certain type of experience.

An online screening program typically asks a series of questions related to the job that you answer using check boxes, buttons or short answers in text boxes. It’s important to read and answer the questions carefully, as you may not be able to change and resubmit your answers.

For an example of online screening, visit the City of Calgary home page and choose Career Opportunities. Follow the application process until you get to the screening questions. View the questions or go through the process, then cancel your application.
