Karson

Karson is spending his first JFR summer on the Fox Creek Crew!

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name’s Karson, I just turned 18 last week, and I graduated from high school this year. I’m from Lacombe, and in my free time I enjoy playing guitar, basketball, and listening to music - classic rock in particular.

How has your experience been so far with JFR?

My experience with JFR will be an event in my life I will never forget. It has been a great learning experience from meeting the boys to seeing what it’s like to work in the agriculture and forest industry.

What is your dream job?

Clinical Psychologist – I like the focus of individuals trying to improve their lives with the proper guidance, rather than choosing the easy methods of medications and/or negative alternatives.

What do you like most about your crewmates?

What I like most about my crewmates is their humour and the attitudes they carry throughout the day. This makes both the work day and our time off very enjoyable, and that is what ultimately makes this experience wonderful.

What is one thing that you have learnt or completed through JFR that you never thought you would?

The widespread amount of jobs that are in the forest industry and the possibilities for the future. With the insight and the training we have completed so far, a career in this sector is a strong possibility. I’m glad to have been exposed to this amount of knowledge throughout my time here, and I am excited for what this will bring to me in the future.
