Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m 16, going into my senior year of high school. I come from a big family and have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, all older than me, and 1 dog. The last 10 months of my life before JFR was spent in the Czech Republic on an exchange program. In my free time I mostly fence, play piano, or study for school.
Why did you apply to the JFR program?
I remember seeing my first Bull of the Woods when I was around 10 years old, when I came to watch my oldest brother compete. I was so impressed by the teens all dressed in their bright yellow suits, tossing their melon rolls up into the air. I’ve wanted to be a part of this ever since then, and that interest was renewed when my other brother had an amazing summer here last year. It’s also really different for me, as I live in southern Alberta without many trees.
What makes you happy?
I am very food oriented. Other than that I like learning languages and destroying my friends in a good round of risk. I love fencing in particular, it’s amazing sport for me and my team is my second family.
