Tailer is a second year crew member on the 2019 Hinton crew!

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm Tailer, I'm 18 and a second year JFR crew member. My hobbies include rock climbing, unicycling, and wrestling. I'm planning on going to NAIT for forest technology in the fall of 2020 to become a Forest Health Technician.

How has your experience been so far with JFR?

JFR has been incredible for me. My experience here has taught about me so much more than careers in Agriculture and Forestry. It has taught me so many life skills and even more about myself in general. These past two summers have been two of the best of my life and I am so happy to have gotten this opportunity.

What makes you happy?

Being outside. Whether it's hiking, climbing, relaxing, or working, it's just an instant boost in my mood.

Describe what JFR means to you in 5 words or less.

New experiences.

What is one think you have learnt or completed through JFR that you never thought you would?

I never would've expected to be chainsaw certified, and especially comfortable with a chainsaw. I was really hesitant at first but I love running the chainsaw now - with a healthy amount of fear.
