Tasks
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
- Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
- Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
- Install exterior and interior steel studs
- Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
- Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools
- Assemble plywood panels
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
