- Organize tasks to accomplish the work
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Co-ordinate, assign and review work
- Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
- Supervise personnel clerks performing filing, typing and record-keeping duties
- Schedule work of other staff
- Prepare and submit progress and other reports
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Organize and maintain procedures for the keeping of records
