Tasks

  • Assist clients on and off amusement park rides and secure and release safety belts and bars
  • Operate machines to clean, smooth and prepare ice surfaces
  • Record weather information and other data
  • Schedule events, programs and activities
  • Schedule work
  • Set up rides and amusements
  • Determine snow quality
  • Monitor equipment to detect wear and damage
  • Monitor safety area
  • Provide instruction and assistance to skiers on surface lift techniques and loading and unloading of chair lifts
  • Collect tickets and fees, and rent or sell sports and accessory equipment
  • Operate radio and other communication equipment to communicate emergency events, maintenance of equipment and other procedures with staff members
  • Assist patrons on and off rides
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair work
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Supervise operation of mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
  • Provide customer service
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
