This is a new major within our existing 4-year Bachelor of Arts program. It builds on the existing concentration in our 3-year Bachelor of Arts program. The proposed program is 123 credits, including a minimum of 48 credits in sociology, taken over 8 15-week academic terms. Delivery is largely classroom instruction.

Admission Requirements

Five appropriate Grade 12 subjects including:

  • English 30-1
  • With an overall average of at least 60%, no single mark below 50%
  • For 4 Year B.A. Math 30-2 is required

Mature Student:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • English 30-1 with minimum 60%
  • High school record
  • Letter of recommendation required; and/or college entrance examination scores
  • English Language Studies Assessment Test administered to some
  • For 4 Year B.A. Math 30-2 (or equivalency) is required

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Student Aid Alberta for the funding year 2018/08/01 to 2019/07/31*.
