Launch a career in the travel industry with a Business Administration - Global Tourism diploma. This two-year program will equip you with fundamental knowledge about the diverse tourism sector, as well as the business skills necessary for marketing, management and product development. Play a leading role in a sector that continues to fuel global economies. Business Administration - Global Tourism is a two year diploma which combines tourism-sector knowledge with business skills focusing on marketing, management and product development. This program will provide learners with sector-specific tourism courses to lay the foundation for managing and marketing tourism products and services. Tourism specific knowledge will then be applied to business courses examining marketing, branding, relationship selling, communication, revenue management and product development. This integrated, business driven approach to tourism will prepare Alberta graduates to play a leading role in a sector that is becoming a driver in global economies.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements: Credit in English 30-1 or a minimum of 65% in English 30-2 or equivalent, credit in Math 30-1 or Math 30-2 or equivalent, OR successful completion of the General Equivalency Development test (GED) with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing and 520 in Math, OR satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions Test. Students may enter Year Two of the Business Administration Diploma upon completion of 30 post-secondary credits from a recognized business program.

 

English Language Proficiency Requirements: In addition to academic requirements, applicants whose first language is NOT English must demonstrate ONE of the following: IELTS score of 6 with minimum band score of 5.5, TOEFL score of 83, BVC Academic English 2 with a grade of ‘B-’, Canadian Language Benchmarks score of 8 in each strand, successful completion of an Alberta Education English Language Arts course that is consistent with the specified academic admission requirements for the Career Program, transcripts demonstrating successful completion of three years of full-time secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction, transcripts demonstrating successful completion of one year of full-time post secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction.

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Student Aid Alberta for the funding year 2017/08/01 to 2018/07/31*.
