English as an Additional Language

Grant MacEwan University

Grant MacEwan University

www.macewan.ca
Open to domestic and international students, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) program, commonly called English as a Second Language (ESL), offers a full range of intermediate to advanced skill-building courses so that students can improve their English Language Proficiency (ELP) and prioritize their English Language Learning. Designed to meet the prerequisites for academic purposes and professional or personal goals, the EAL program allows full-time or part-time English language learners to be immersed in a university environment with experienced adult education instructors. Schedules are planned based on student's needs, and courses focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with opportunities to build higher-level grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and research writing skills well past English language foundations.
