Admission Requirements

Standard Admission: 1. Minimum18 years of age. If student is under 18 years old, will require parental consent. 2. Minimum Grade 10 verified by transcript or equivalent, with 50% or better in Grade 10 English. 3. Meet or exceed the physical tolerances of a heavy equipment operator as identified by the National Occupational Classification (NOC 7421). - Able to tolerate sustained sitting periods with exposure to vibration and jarring. - Upper extremity mobility and strength to lift and carry tools and fluids. - Adequate agility including climbing, stooping, crouching and bending. 4. Class 5 Driver's license is recommended, but not mandatory. Mature Admission: 1. 19+ years of age. 2. Out of school for 2 or more years. 3. Possess the prerequisite requirements - Grade 10 English (verified by recent transcript, or an academic assessment provided by a public or private institution*). 4. Acknowledge the ability to perform the physical tolerances required to work as a heavy equipment operator as identified by the National Occupational Classification (NOC 7421). - Able to tolerate sustained sitting periods with exposure to vibration and jarring. - Upper extremity mobility and strength to lift and carry tools and fluids. - Adequate agility including climbing, stooping, crouching and bending. * High Velocity Training Centre uses High Velocity Equipment Training - Student Assessment for English/Language Arts Grade 10, to assess Grade 10 English equivalency.
