The proposed program in systems security will train students to enter the vital and growing field of computer and information technology security. Discussions with those in IT support the need for graduates specializing in IT security.

Admission Requirements

Completion of the following courses or equivalents:

  • Math 30-1 (minimum of 65%) or SAIT Math 182 (minimum of 65%) and

  • English Language Arts 30-1 (minimum of 60%) or English Language Arts 30-2 (minimum of 65%)

All qualified students will be entered into a selection process and will need a submission package including all of the following:

  • Career and program investigation report
  • Resumé
  • Two letters of reference
  • Signed agreement regarding student conduct and legal requirements
  • Criminal Records Check (please wait until you have received an invitation by email to attend a selection session before requesting a records check)

All applicants must demonstrate English Language Proficiency prior to admission, including students educated in Canada.


Student Aid

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Student Aid Alberta for the funding year 2017/08/01 to 2018/07/31*.

  • Tuition $12,000.00 Year One
  • Books/Supplies/Instruments $3,000.00 Year One
  • Mandatory Fees $943.00 Year One
