The CSPT major works to facilitate critical dialogues across disciplines by bringing together areas of research in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The major integrates a range of theoretical and practical approaches and fosters scholarship in both contemporary and historical fields of research, incorporating course work and thesis work. The CSPT major emphasizes social, cultural, and political thought to provide students with the intellectual and practical tools to work with community partners and agencies to imagine new ways of conducting research and approaching social issues to facilitate social change. Graduates of this major will be prepared to continue in academia or to work as critically engaged citizens in a variety of work environments.

Admission Requirements
A University of Lethbridge baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent from another recognized degree-granting institution, in the discipline of interest or in a closely cognate discipline. Evidence of scholarly competence (a minimum grade point average of 3.00, based on a 4.00 scale, on the last 20 graded university-level semester courses). Applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis.
