Power and Process Operations is an 8-month program that trains students for careers as operators, responsible for the daily safe running of processing equipment at oil and gas facilities. The program consists of both classroom and laboratory study, and prepares students to become fourth class Power Engineers through ABSA.

Admission Requirements

Completion of the following courses or equivalents:

  • At least 60% in Math 30-1 or Pure Math 30, or at least 75% in Math 30-2, Math 30-3 or Applied Math 30,
  • At least 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 75% in English Language Arts 30-2.
  • All applicants must demonstrate English Language Proficiency prior to admission, including students educated in Canada.

Student Aid

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid for the funding year 2023/08/01 to 2024/07/31*.

  • Tuition $5,400.00 Year One
  • Mandatory Fees $1,900.00 Year One
  • Books/Supplies/Instruments $1,700.00 Year One

* Tuition, books, supplies, instruments, and other/mandatory fees are provided to Alberta Student Aid and may be used when processing full-time post-secondary funding applications. The educational costs provided are based on a 100% full-course load and may not reflect current or all educational costs charged by the school.
