Refrigeration and HVAC mechanics are responsible for assembling, installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment for refrigeration, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. 

This comprehensive course covers tools and instruments, ladders, scaffolds and lifts, soldering and brazing, and refrigerant and oil handling. Learn about refrigeration principles and the vapour compression cycle. Gain an introductory knowledge of valve design and functions as well as the principles and practices of workplace safety, including an introduction to electrical and meter safety.

Admission Requirements
The goal of this course is to prepare graduates for entry-level Refrigeration and HVAC positions where they can begin their apprenticeship. It offers a comprehensive curriculum. Upon successful completion students will have an understanding of related terms and how they are applied to equipment and systems typical to the industry and to utilize the learned knowledge and fundamental skills to prepare for a career in the Refrigeration and HVAC industry.
