This is an on-campus program consisting of five courses that will run during our regular academic year beginning in September. Students will learn how to safely handle and restrain animals that are being cared for in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, boarding or pet facility. The primary focus will be on basic care and husbandry of cats and dogs. Students will also learn about common procedures performed on small animals in a veterinary setting and learn how to assist veterinarians and animal health technologists. Learners will have the opportunity to operate and maintain equipment used in veterinary hospitals or animal care facilities.
