Admission Requirements
Standard Admission Students must meet ONE of the following criteria: 1. Alberta High School diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent. OR General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) AND 2. Successful interview with school administration. Mature Admission Students must meet ALL of the following criteria: 1. Out of High School for two years. 2. Successful result on the Academy of Learning - Brooks Entrance Examination. 3. Mature students must demonstrate that their language skills are at an acceptable level for a typical Grade 12 student. 4. Successful completion of the Canadian Achievement Survey Test for Adults (CAST) with a stanine score of 4 or higher. 5. Where English is a student's second language, students are required to be tested prior to writing the Academy of Learning Entrance Examination and taking the CAST tests. Academy of Learning (Brooks) requires the same standard currently in place for international students to evaluate the applicants' language proficiency: - TOEFL paper-based test = Minimum score of 525 - TOEFL internet-based test = Overall minimum score of 80 required, with minimum scores of 20 in Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking. - IELTS = Minimum overall band of 6.0, with no single test below 5.5 - CAEL = Minimum overall score of 60.
