Legislation

Under Alberta’s Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act [pdf] and Supply Chain Management Association Alberta Regulation [pdf], you must register with the Supply Chain Canada, Alberta Institute to use the protected title Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP).

You do not have to register if you do not call yourself a Supply Chain Management Professional.

What You Need

To register as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) in Alberta, you need:

  • An approved degree or diploma in a business-related field, or approved equivalent
  • 5 years of work experience in supply chain management
  • Successful completion of the SCMP Designation Program

Working in Alberta

Supply chain management professionals who are certified by and in good standing with a regulatory body elsewhere in Canada may be eligible for certification in Alberta.
