Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name Kaywin and I am from Rocky Mountain House Alberta. I am 17 years old. I’ve always been a big outdoors person since I was younger. I have an extreme growing interest in Grizzly Bears, and I've always been very invested in the rodeo community, whether by volunteering, participating, and working the grounds.
What has been your favorite project or activity you’ve done with JFR so far?
My favorite activity to do when we were in training was probably hand tools. I quite liked sharpening and using them.
Please describe your JFR leaders with a pop culture/musical reference / meme and explain why.
A song I would use to describe our leaders would probably be "Hand in My pocket" by Alanis Morissette, because it demonstrates they’re easy going but also responsible attitude and is a total banger of a song.
What would you say to someone who is thinking about applying to the program?
If you are thinking about applying to this program, make sure you are ready to work hard, listen and take constructive criticism in a healthy way. But overall, the program is incredible, a great place to learn, grow and meet new people.
Describe what JFR means to you in 5 words or less!
Friendship, responsibility, growth, hard-work, and kindness.
