Tasks

  • Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate
  • Help pharmacists
  • Maintain prescription records
  • Prepare medications for clients
  • Repair, build and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear
  • Set up and dismantle equipment
  • Supervise and direct activities of other medical technologists or technicians
  • Apply and adjust casts, splints and bandages
  • Assemble or build prosthetic and orthotic appliances according to drawings, measurements and plaster casts
  • Design and fabricate ocular implants
  • Record information about donors
  • Bill third party insurers
  • Remove organs and tissue specimens from bodies in morgue as directed by pathologist
  • Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor
