Admission Requirements
Standard Admission In order to be accepted, students must provide: 1. High school diploma or equivalency: a. Alberta high school diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent (high school diplomas from outside Canada will be verified by International Qualifications Assessment Service or World Education Services), OR b. successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) with a minimum score of 450 2. A Career Investigation Report including why they have chosen this career path and the research they have done on the Beauty Industry. 3. Complete our online Career Investigation Quiz through Pivot Point's Learn About Beauty. Mature Admission In order to be accepted, students must meet the following criteria: 1. Be 19 years or older 2. Demonstration of academic achievement: a. Completion of Canadian Achievement Survey Test for Adults (CAST) with a minimum score of 75%, (Level 3 equivalency), with a Grade 11 equivalency in Reading, Language and Math, OR b. Alberta high school transcript with a minimum of Grade 11, with a Grade 11 equivalency in Reading, Language and Math. 3. A Career Investigation Report including why they have chosen this career path and the research they have done on the Beauty Industry. 4. Complete our online Career Investigation Quiz through Pivot Point's Learn About Beauty. English Language Admission Requirement Students must meet the English language requirements through ONE of the following: 1. Successful Completion of Grade 12 Alberta Education English Language Arts. 2. Transcripts demonstrating the successful completion of one year of full-time post-secondary education at a school where English was the primary language of instruction. 3. Demonstrating a Canadian Language Benchmark of at least 6, through the following assessment: IELTS - minimum score of 5 (reading), 5.5 (listening), 5.5 (writing), 5.5 (speaking) CAEL - minimum score of 50 (reading), 50, (listening), 50 (writing), 50 (speaking) TOEFL iBT - minimum overall score of 45 Fulfillment of the above entrance requirements plus payment of the registration fee is required before a Letter of Acceptance will be issued.
