Admission Requirements
Standard Admissions Students must meet ONE of the following criteria: 1. Alberta high school diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent OR 2. Successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D) Please note: High School diplomas that are not from Canada will be verified by IQAS or the World Education Services Gateway Program. Mature Admission Students must meet the following criteria: 1. Be 18 years or older for Alberta students. 2. Be out of High School for at least one (1) year 3. A passing mark of 20 on the Heritage College Wonderlic Basic Skills Test Entrance Exam. English Language Admission Requirement For students whose first language is not English and they don't have high school diploma from Alberta or equivalent high school diploma from other provinces, they must meet one the following criteria in addition to pass the admission interview with the college adviser Students must demonstrate a minimum English language benchmark through ONE of the following: Complete English 30-1 2. Transcripts demonstrating the successful completion of, at minimum, one year (two semesters) of full-time post-secondary education at a school where English was the primary language of instruction. 3. Complete the Wonderlic admission test. 4. Demonstrating a Canadian Language Benchmark of at least 7, or or any equivalent exam through ONE of the following assessments: a. Duolingo (minimum score 105) b. TOEFL (minimum score 77) Additional Requirements In addition to the criteria listed above, all applicants must: 1. Pass the admissions interview with the Program Lead, which determined the potential student's personal suitability to the program goals and outcomes. 2. Demonstrate necessary computer knowledge/skills (assessed during an admissions interview). 3. Provide a current (completed within 12 previous months) Police Information Check (PIC). The existence of a criminal record may postpone or prevent fieldwork placements, therefore subsequently affecting a potential student's successful completion of the program.
