Chemical Technology is a two-year nationally accredited diploma program that helps you build the skills you need to start a career as a chemical technologist or technician in many different industries across Canada. The program offers an in-depth, lab-focused education that builds knowledge and practical skills in modern chemical analysis and laboratory practices. The curriculum emphasizes safety in every aspect of laboratory work and ensures you are prepared to follow best practices in chemical handling and laboratory protocols. In addition to learning foundational and advanced methods used in chemical analysis, you will strengthen your abilities in data processing, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through immersive training, you will explore key areas of chemistry, including general, organic, physical, analytical, environmental, biochemical, and food chemistry. You will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard analytical techniques and instrumentation while developing essential competencies in chemical synthesis, safety, quality control, data analysis and reporting. As a graduate of the program, you will be equipped for employment in sectors such as petrochemical, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical, food and agriculture, water and wastewater treatment, chemical production, and research and development.
