Admission Requirements
Standard Admission ? Students must hold an Alberta Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent; these studies must include English 30 or equivalent with a minimum mark of 60%, and an overall grade 12 average of 60%. ? Successful interview with Student Admissions Advisor ? A Clear Criminal Record and a Child Abuse Registry check prior to the start of the program. ? All applicants who are educated outside of Canada or not in a country on the test exempt list are expected to meet the English language proficiency requirement. As per the Alberta Child Care Staff Certification Guide, Robertson will accept the following English Language proficiency assessment tests and scores: a. CELPIP General (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program). Level 7 must be achieved in all areas (reading, writing, listening, speaking) b. IELTS General (International English Language Testing System) A score of 6 must be achieved in all areas (reading, writing, listening, speaking). Mature Admission ? Must be at least 19 years of age and one year out of high school ? Successful interview with Student Admissions Advisor ? Successful completion of academic entrance assessment - a minimum score of 240 on each, reading, writing and math. ? A Clear Criminal Record and a Child Abuse Registry check prior to the start of the program. ?
