As the Edmonton region’s only community college, NorQuest serves over 17,500 students annually throughout the province in full-time, part-time, online learning, and regional programming. Admission Requirements

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 8 English Language Arts and Mathematics or equivalent

Note: Academic admission requirements are different from English language proficiency (ELP) requirements. NorQuest College English for Academic Purposes courses may be used to meet both requirements.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

You must provide proof of ELP prior to admission. ELP test results must have been obtained within two years of the start date of your program.

Acceptable evidence of ELP may be one of the following test scores:

  • CLBPT or CLBA: no section score below 5 in listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: 5
  • TOEFL iBT: 40
  • CELPIP General: 5
  • Duolingo: 85
  • minimum of 80% in ESLS 5000 or ESLS 5100, and 80% in ESLW 5000 or ESLW 5100
