Admission Requirements
Standard Admission - Students must meet the following criteria: 1. Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript OR 2. Non-Alberta equivalent OR 3. Successful completion of General Equivalency Diploma (GED) OR 4. A transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country, assessed at an Alberta-recognized assessment service OR 5. English 12 or equivalent 6. And a successful personal interview with the school advisor Mature Admission - Students must meet the following criteria: 1. At least 18 years of age upon commencement AND 2. Academic achievement test to demonstrate required competency: - Achievement Test Minimum required score Wonderlic Scholastic Level Examination 20 OR - Accuplacer Test 237 3. And a successful personal interview with the school advisor Language Skills: Courses at MTG Healthcare Academy are primarily taught in Canadian English. To qualify for admission, learners must demonstrate their language proficiency, typically through their high school or college/university transcripts, or through a test of English language proficiency: English Test / Program Minimum required score Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 7 in each strand or Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) minimum 7 in all sections, or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum 6 in all sections or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum of 77 or Duolingo Language Test 95 or three (3) years of full-time secondary education at a Canadian high school where the primary language of instruction was English. or two (2) years of full-time study at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada where the primary language of instruction was English. or three (3) years of full-time study at the college level in a country where the medium of instruction is English.
