The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing Practice I and II are designed to provide advanced nursing practice knowledge and practical experience for registered nurses who wish to acquire specialized skills. The certificates will strengthen nursing professionals' knowledge and skills that are specific to their area of practice, and will support them to integrate role dimensions that include advanced clinical skills, organizational leadership, research, education, professional development and consultation to impact patient, provider and health system outcomes.

Admission Requirements

a) Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing Practice I with a minimum GPA of 3.00.

b) In order of priority, preference will be given to applicants who:

Hold an active nursing registration in the Province of Alberta;
Hold an active nursing registration in a Canadian province or territory of employment;
International students.*

*Note: International students are eligible to apply for admission provided they meet the admission requirements and their local professional licensure requirements. However, they will not be eligible for a study permit as the program is delivered online and considered part-time.


Student Aid

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid for the funding year 2023/08/01 to 2024/07/31*.

  • Mandatory Fees $2,112.00 Year One

* Tuition, books, supplies, instruments, and other/mandatory fees are provided to Alberta Student Aid and may be used when processing full-time post-secondary funding applications. The educational costs provided are based on a 100% full-course load and may not reflect current or all educational costs charged by the school.
