The Graduate Certificate in Quantum Computing is a 12-unit certificate program intended to provide an introduction to the essentials of quantum computing software, applications, and use cases, and an introduction to how quantum computing is used in industry with a focus on adoption of systems, structure and economics for platforms, and impacts to organizations. As quantum computing technology moves from a theoretical state to one available for commercial use, the certificate program will provide critical expertise and foundational knowledge in applicability and how quantum technologies can integrate with existing IT infrastructure in industrial settings.

Admission Requirements

Quantum Computing Admission Requirements

Four-years bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum admission grade point average of 3.00 on a four-point scale or equivalent, calculated on the last 60 units (20 half-course equivalents) completed in your 4-year Bachelor’s degree (please note that the GPA from Graduate degrees is not included).. 
  • Successful completion of the following undergraduate courses, with at least a “B” grade or equivalent: 
    • Linear Algebra
    • Computer Programming.
  • Demonstration of English Language Proficiency (ELP)  

Student Aid

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid for the funding year 2025/08/01 to 2026/07/31*.
