The Graduate Diploma in Precision Health will provide advanced precision health education and skills to learners in, or who are interested in, the healthcare profession wishing to develop academic and nonacademic careers with patient centered solutions as the focus. It will use innovative teaching and learning approaches to offer a valuable training opportunity to learners who are interested in accessing precision health education that is relevant, data driven and clinically focused. Graduates will apply systems thinking to the management of complex issues and projects for healthcare.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Cumming School of Medicine requirements, the program requires:

a) Qualifications: Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Precision Health in student's area of specialization with a GPA of 3.30 or higher.

b) English Language Proficiency

d) Additional Requirements

A current curriculum vitae.
Applicants to the certificate program must provide a vision statement (no more than one page in length, single space, maximum 500 words) outlining career goals, and how the Precision Health program will help to achieve them.
Applicants to the Master's program are required to arrange for the submission of two reference letters. References must follow the guidelines posted on the program's website for prospective students.

Meeting the minimum admission criteria above does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Note: As per Section A.1 of the University of Calgary’s Graduate Calendar, in exceptional circumstances, individuals who do not meet formal academic requirements but who have significant life achievements may be considered for admission to this program. The candidate must provide evidence demonstrating the potential to successfully undertake the certificate program. Such candidates may also be required to participate in an in-person interview with the Associate Dean, Graduate Science Education. In all such cases, the decision whether or not to admit rests with the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
