The Master of Quantum Computing is a 36-unit, professionally-oriented master's degree program. The program is designed to provide students with the skills to understand and support quantum computing systems in practical settings by providing foundational knowledge of hardware and software, application areas, introduction to use cases, and practical experience through experiential learning and work-integrated learning (internships). A key feature of this program is the focus on bringing quantum computing to business settings, allowing students to develop professional and leadership skills while developing critical skills and technological knowledge and abilities.

Admission Requirements

Quantum Computing Admission Requirements

Four-years bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum admission grade point average of 3.00 on a four-point scale or equivalent, calculated on the last 60 units (20 half-course equivalents) completed in your 4-year Bachelor’s degree (please note that the GPA from Graduate degrees is not included).. 
  • Successful completion of the following undergraduate courses, with at least a “B” grade or equivalent: 
    • Linear Algebra
    • Computer Programming.
  • Demonstration of English Language Proficiency (ELP)  

Student Aid

This program is eligible for full-time post-secondary assistance by Alberta Student Aid for the funding year 2025/08/01 to 2026/07/31*.
