Admission Requirements
Student must meet ONE of the following criteria: 1. Alberta high school diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent Credit in English 30-1 or minimum 65% in English 30-2 or equivalent credit in a Grade 10 math (excluding Math 10-4 and Math 16 levels. OR 2. Successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) Test that consists of five tests with minimum score in the following sections; Interpreting Literature and Art: 520 minimum standard score Writing Skills: 520 minimum standard score Math Test: 450 minimum score Keyboarding (15wpm, no errors) Clear Security Clearance - Prior to practicum a vulnerable sector security check would be needed. Ability to carry out the workload - Determined during interview Current Record of Immunization with up to date immunization record such as Hep B Vaccination Interview with program coordinator for program suitability/aptitude test Mature Admission: Students must meet the following criteria: 1. Must be 18 years of age or older, out of school for at least 2 years 2. Complete an academic achievement test to demonstrate required competency Standard testing; for PTI the required test would be CAAT (Canadian Adult Achievement Test) Level D (content reference score) which measures 11-12+ years of formal education and have Probably finished high school. 3. Students whose first language is not English will need to provide proof of Canadian Language Benchmark level. Required to achieve a minimum level of CLB7
