Exploring the company’s website and social networks is a good place to start. Look for information about the company’s culture and values. Find out what’s expected of employees and what advancement opportunities are on offer. And find out what jobs are available and how to apply.
Use your personal network and sites like LinkedIn for the inside story of what it’s like to work for a particular company. Or conduct an informational interview with someone who works there.
Attending job fairs is another great way to check out employers. You can research several at a single event!

Look through trade magazines and browse the websites of trade and professional associations. Most important, learn to use labour market information to find trends, opportunities, emerging occupations, and occupations in demand.
