Tasks

  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
  • Measure distance, volume, length and weight
  • Operate computer controlled equipment
  • Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Complete onboard and other logs
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
