Tasks
- Check, clean and lubricate waterworks equipment
- Keep record of work performed and location and condition of equipment
- Adjust and repair waterworks equipment under the direction of qualified tradesperson
- Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
- Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment
- Operate various vehicles and equipment
- Report any malfunctions to supervisor
- Search, locate and repair reported water leaks
- Install water meters
- Check and lubricate gas pipeline valves
- Conduct routine survey of gas mains and distribution lines
- Investigate reports of gas leaks
- Provide information on underground gas distribution lines
- Observe excavation work to ensure that underground facilities are protected
- Dig ground to expose gas lines and repair damaged pipes
