Science is behind most of the modern innovations that we enjoy: medical care, electronic communications, transportation systems and space exploration, to name a few. Mount Royal's Bachelor of Science will prepare you for a wide variety of careers in science and technology, business, health care and other sectors. All of our science majors also provide you with the foundation for future graduate and professional studies. A general science degree provides a comprehensive undergraduate education in science, exposing students to a wide range of disciplines. Students can explore what interests them most, and with a strong foundation in mathematics and computational sciences, students are equipped to meet the most in-demand skills. Students specialize this degree by completing courses in two of the following six concentrations: Biology Learn about the science of life by exploring one of three areas of biology: anatomy and physiology, cellular and molecular biology, or ecology and evolution. Chemistry Get a mix of classroom and practical laboratory instruction with a focus on organic chemistry, biochemistry and molecular structures. Geography Take courses in either physical geography and conservation or mapping and geographic information systems. Geology Explore different aspects of geology through courses in physical geology, palaeontology, hydrogeology and others. Mathematics Build the tools you will need to understand the mathematical basis of all sciences. Take courses in linear algebra, calculus, modelling and statistics. Physics Study mechanics, waves and optics, and quantum mechanics.
