Data Analytics for Business

The Diploma in Data Analytics for Business is design for students with a variety of interests and backgrounds. It is an innovative and experiential training program designed to take a deep dive into the data analytics process: collection, cleaning, analysis, interpretation, visualization and create a compelling presentation and communication to translate data in meaningful insights for business. This program is an intensive 16 months - 4 semester program, including a minimum of 51% of the training occurs on the job. Mentorship, classroom education and on the job education are interspersed throughout the duration of the program. The course portion of the program will be delivered onsite at Medicine Hat College in a in a blended or face-to-face format. This program is designed for the student who enjoys facing and solving problems with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to drive innovation in organizations by leveraging data-based decision-making models. Students will get handson experience in a variety of data analytic tools and techniques that transform raw data into a critical decision-making tool supporting organizations and decision-makers. Furthermore, they will apply rigorous data analysis techniques learned in the classroom to solve real-world problems, solve complex business problems, as well as learn to present complex insights efficiently and effectively. Every semester they will have access to a paid 6-week workplace field placement as a part of their experiential learning.
