Admission Requirements
Standard Admission: A High-School student must meet ONE of the below requirements to be considered for admission:  Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript  A non-Alberta equivalent, verified by transcript  General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), verified by transcript  Demonstrate basic computer operational level knowledge 5.2- Mature Students A mature student is any applicant who is over 18 years old and does not hold a high school diploma. Even without a high school, mature students will have the opportunity to apply for admission to the Diploma program. A mature student must meet ALL of the following requirements to be considered into the program:  Be 18 years or older when they submit their application  Successfully pass the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Test  Demonstrate basic computer operational level knowledge 5.3- International Students An applicant who is neither a Canadian citizen nor a landed immigrant is considered an International Student. An International Student must meet ALL of the following requirements to be considered for admission:  Completed, high school program or equivalent program with a C+ grade or higher. Students must prove they completed high school at an institution accredited by the Country's Ministry of Education.  Meet Math requirements: completed a grade 12 math course with a C+ grade or higher  Meet English Requirements: Because English is the language of instruction at City College, International Students must demonstrate their English language competence by one of the following means: o Completed a grade 12 English course in Literature or Composition with a C+ grade or higher from a school in which English Language is the primary language of instruction o Completed a post-secondary English course with a C+ grade or higher at a College or University in which English Language is the primary language of instruction o Completed a diploma, certificate, undergraduate degree at a College or University in which English Language is the primary language of instruction English Language Proficiency Requirements: Completed within the last two years one of the following language proficiency tests with the marks listed below or higher: English Proficiency Test Minimum English Proficiency Scores Accepted TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language IELTS - International English Language Testing System (Academic) IBT Overall 80 Overall 6.0 CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language PTE - Pearson Test of English Academic MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Batter Overall 60 50 Overall 70
