Admission Requirements
Standard Admission: Each applicant will be interviewed to determine eligibility for the program. If during the interview it is determined that additional evaluations are required, the applicant will be notified and the evaluation(s) will be scheduled. Completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent; and a credit in either English 30-1 or 30-2, or an equivalent. All applicants must provide supporting documents, including transcripts and proof of their high school diploma or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) scores. Students who have received their high school diploma outside of Canada must provide verification through the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or World Education Services (WES). A current, government-issued photo ID is necessary to verify your identity during the admission and instructional process. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver's license, passport, or national identification card. Ensure that the photo ID is not expired and contains a clear photograph. English Language Requirements: If English is your first language - High School English 30-1 or 30-2 CAEC scores, Certificates or Diplomas achieved with back up transcripts. If English is not your first language one of the following English proficiency test scores is required to meet a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) minimum score of 7.0: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score 60, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score 6.5 (Academic Module). Mature Students: Applicants who have not achieved a high school diploma may apply as mature students. To qualify, mature students must be 18 years of age or older. Mature students must meet the English Language Requirements and must provide assessment results from one of the following: Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam (SLE) minimum range of 20-26, Canadian Achievement Survey Test for Adults (CAST) minimum range of 16-22, College Board Placement Test (Accuplacer) combined score of 237 or higher (administered through Lethbridge Polytechnic -online).
