WorkFirst Alberta

Having trouble finding a job? Not sure what career path to take? Need help writing your resumé?

WorkFirst Alberta can help with all this and much more.

WorkFirst Alberta employment services

WorkFirst Alberta is a province‑wide framework for employment services that connect job seekers with meaningful employment and help employers find qualified workers.

The framework brings together a wide range of employment services and introduces digital tools designed to make finding—and creating—opportunities easier than ever.

Find local employment services in your community

Search the Employment and Training Services Directory to find training programs and employment services funded by Alberta's government and the Government of Canada. Programs provide unemployed and under-employed Albertans with the support they need to be successful in their job search.

Agencies deliver the programs in person in communities across the province and may offer online and virtual delivery for some programs. You can reach out to these agencies directly to determine what programs and services you're eligible for.

Thrive digital employment service

Thrive is one of WorkFirst Alberta’s key digital services and is available province-wide. Albertans can access a 6-month license that provides:

  • A one‑stop online system to support job‑ready Albertans

  • An AI-powered resumé builder, including a free resumé review from a career expert

  • Career matching based on your existing skills

  • Tools to track your employment progress

  • Additional career resources
