Scholarships are available in many categories, including academic excellence, volunteerism, and innovation. And they’re available from many sources—governments, schools, community organizations, clubs, local businesses, and more.
Specialized scholarships are available for Indigenous students, apprenticeship students, international students, and students with a disability.
Do some research to find scholarships you might be eligible for:
- Check with your school counsellor or talk to staff at an Alberta Supports Centre.
- Ask your parents if scholarships are available through their companies, unions, or professional associations—or through service clubs and cultural organizations they belong to.
- Ask people you know if they can refer you to scholarships offered through local businesses, clubs, or religious organizations.
- Check the websites of the post-secondary institutions you are considering.
- Do targeted keyword searches. For example, “scholarships for undergraduates” or “scholarships for community work.”
- Search the following scholarship-related websites:
- Alberta Student Aid Scholarships
- Government of Canada Scholarships
- International Scholarships for Canadians Studying Abroad
- Scholarships for Indigenous Students
- TD Scholarships for Community Leadership
- Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
- Yconic
