Question
Look for Work

“I’ve been looking for work for more than 3 months and I’ve come up empty. Now what?”

Answer

Looking for work can be a long and sometimes challenging process.

Now is probably a good time to review your resumé to make sure you are using the right format to highlight your skills, accomplishments, and experience. The type of resumé that is best for you depends on your experience, the position you’re applying for, and the industry you work in. Tailoring your resumé will help you stand out from the crowd.

If you've been unemployed for more than 3 months, then it's probably time to ask experts for help. You can get advice and referrals from Career Advisors at the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992 Toll-free (within Alberta). You can also seek help from a government-funded employment service.

Don't forget to stay positive during your work search. The right job is out there.
