Identify Key Tasks

In Step 1 you chose an occupation. In Step 2, you identify key tasks that you need to complete. For example, if the occupation you identified is:

  • medical sonographer - a likely key task would be to complete a medical sonographer program at the post-secondary level
  • visual merchandiser - a key task could be to land a job in the visual display department of a major retailer

Now you will identify key tasks related to your occupation. More than likely, these tasks will involve learning, work or experience required for the occupation.

Typical key tasks include

  • completing a post-secondary program
  • developing new skills
  • buying a piece of equipment
  • finding work in a specific company or industry
  • completing certification requirements
  • moving for school or work

If you can't identify key tasks related to your occupation, research

If you would like to talk to someone about identifying key tasks, contact an Alberta Supports Coordinator.

If you've completed Step 1, your occupation will appear in the box below. If not, type it in.

Type in your key tasks in the space provided.
