Alis Update For Career Advisors: May 2025

Exciting Updates for Career Advisors

Alis has just introduced several helpful updates and a new account feature to support career advisors working with multiple clients:

We’ve added 10 new occupational videos to provide insight into these occupations.

We have also made significant updates to 52 occupational profiles, as well as 5 related Alberta certifications. These updates are the result of ongoing, in-depth collaboration with Alberta’s industry experts, including regulatory bodies, professional associations, post-secondary educators, and employers. Alis regularly engages in this validation process to ensure that its occupational information remains accurate, relevant, and reflective of Alberta’s dynamic labour market. This ensures that the information you and your clients rely on is current, accurate, and aligned with Alberta’s labour market trends.

New alis account functionality for career advisors

This functionality introduces a new Advisor Access tab in the existing account sharing feature. Inside of this tab, career advisors will be able to contact clients and do the tasks below:

  • Request access to someone’s account.
  • Monitor the status of requests and shared accounts.
  • Cancel access to user accounts that are no longer needed.
  • Group accounts (e.g. by program, workshop, class, career phase, fiscal year, or whatever suits your workflow).
  • Filter, sort or pin specific accounts or groups for easy access.

The goal of this feature is to make it easier for career advisors with a large number of clients to integrate alis into their workflow. For those who use this feature, let us know what you think and if we can make any further improvements.
