Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi my name is Ethan, I’m 18 and graduated this year. I have been exposed to the outdoors since I was born. My Dad made sure to take me hunting and fishing with him as soon as he could. This really helped foster a love for wildlife and the outdoors in my life.

Why did you apply to the JFR program?

I applied to the JFR program because it was an amazing chance to learn about different carrier paths in forestry, wildfire, as well as wildlife management in both the public and private sectors.

What brings you joy?

I often find joy in being able to provide my self with food or items I have made or harvested myself, which has given me many different hobbies and skills to fill my time, as well as making or teaching my friends or family about what my interests are.

Please describe what JFR means to you in 5 words or less!

Work, learning, growth and responsibility.

What is your favorite thing about your crewmates?

My favorite thing about my crew mates is that we all share a common interest in the outdoors but have a variety of different experiences and interests that build upon it.

Thanks for sharing Ethan!
