Keston

Keston is one of 7 super members on the Calgary crew in 2023.

Please describe yourself!

My name is Keston and I am from Red Deer, Alberta. I have three brothers, a niece, and a nephew on the way. I love to be physically active, whether it be through working out or other forms of heavy labor.

Why did you apply to the JFR program?

I saw a poster that was promoting the JFR program about a month before the cut off for joining. It was an impulsive choice and one that I certainly don't regret. When I learned about the program I instantly knew that it was for me.

What are you looking forward to this summer?

Before I joined, I was expecting to work consistently everyday and I was looking forward to it. I was also very excited to get my PAL.

Future plans?

I plan to be a structural fire fighter working in the city. I hope to implement the knowledge, skills, and experience I gain from JFR.

Please describe your leaders with a pop-culture or musical character.

I am not well versed in the realm of pop-culture. Luckily me and the crew went to watch the Barbie movie so I have a few characters fresh in my mind. Madi would be Gloria because she leads the Barbies against the Ken's in a revolutionary sense and I think Madi would lead a revolutionary vegan movement. Jessica would be the main Barbie at the beginning of the film because they both like to have a good time.

Thanks for sharing Keston! If you would like to follow the Calgary crew on their journey this summer, check out their video blogs here.
