Luca is one of six awesome first year members on the Calgary crew for 2024!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
My name is Luca, I'm from Drayton Valley, and I'm going into grade 12 this year! I really like the outdoors, along with swimming, art, and rugby!
How has your experience been so far with JFR?
My experience so far has been better than I could have ever expected! My crew and leaders are the most amazing, fun, and unique people! The Livingstone Gap fire base is so beautiful and exciting to live on! Best of all I have learned so much from all of our project partners, work experiences, and my crew! I will come out of JFR a new, and definitely improved person. This is an amazing program and I would recommend it to anyone interested in forestry!
What are your future plans after high school?
I would like to take a gap year to work, and travel a bit, then I hope to go to post secondary, I'm not quite sure what I would like to take yet, but I am hoping to use my experiences with JFR to figure that out!
Describe what JFR means to you in 5 words or less!
Amazing experience and super fun!
What is your favourite thing about your crewmates?
I love how fun they are to be around, and the genuine connection I have with all of them! They are all amazing, hardworking people, and I hope we all stay close after this program!
